With rubella


Rubella is acute infectious disease caused by rubella virus. After latency period of 2-3 weeks, fever, rash, symptom such as swelling of lymph node come out. Clear symptom may not be seen. Main infection course moves to other people by a cough or sneezing by "droplet infection". It is thought that there is infection power to the neighborhood for anteroposterior around one week when rash appears.

   Particularly, when pregnant woman until pregnancy 20 weeks when immunity to rubella is insufficient is infected with rubella virus, there is possibility (congenital rubella syndrome) that baby is born to eyes and ear, heart with obstacle, and the prior prevention is important. It is necessary for family and people living together to consider because we cannot receive vaccination during the pregnancy.



About eligible people of examination of rubella antibody

In the prefecture, it faces each other toward the following eligible people to prevent congenital rubella syndrome mainly and free carry out examination of rubella antibody. We can check whether you have immunity to rubella (antibody) by examination of rubella antibody.



  Person who corresponds to following (1) or (2) in living in the prefecture (except Kumamoto-shi).

  (1) Woman and housemates such as the spouses who wish to become pregnant.

  (2) Housemates such as spouses of pregnant woman who has a low antibody titer of rubella (is with 16 times or less of in HI antibody titer).

     ※But person corresponding to any of the following is excluded

       * Person who has received examination of rubella antibody in the past

       * Rubella with a history of vaccination

       * Person who has suffered from rubella (received examination of decision by inspection)

 ※Person corresponding to eligible people (2), please submit thing understanding test result including copy of maternity record book.



Application for inspection and flow of inspection

 (1) We submit examination of antibody application to public health center. (possible in Ashikita-machi, Tsunagi-machi)

 (2) We issue consultation ticket from public health center (the municipalities).

 (3) We call and contact inspection medical institution and inspect and make a reservation.

 (4) With consultation ticket and (health insurance card or driver's license) such as identification cards, undergo examination with inspection medical institution; kema

   Do (we collect blood).

 (5) Result office action has been sent later (about one week later) by inspection medical institution.



About vaccination of rubella


 As you may be infected with rubella when antibody titer of rubella is low, please examine vaccination.

 We support vaccination of rubella for rubella having low antibody titer mainly this year in many municipalities. Ask municipality to live before it is vaccinated.
