As we set tsunami inundation assumption of all coasts (Ariake Sea, Amakusa west, Yatsushiro Sea) in the prefecture based on law (2011 law No. 123) Article 8 Paragraph 1 about tsunami disaster prevention community improvement in Kumamoto, we announce based on law Article 8 Paragraph 4.

Notice matter

○"Tsunami inundation assumption" sets based on law (2011 law No. 123) Article 8 Paragraph 1 about tsunami disaster prevention community improvement, and becomes the basics to carry out tsunami disaster prevention community improvement.

○"Tsunami inundation assumption" expressed area (the inundation area) and the depth of the water (flood depth) of the inundation that was assumed when tsunami of the greatest class was generated under the bad condition.

○Outbreak set tsunami of the greatest class from assumed tsunami based on current scientific knowledge in tsunami and the future when it actually occurred in the past, and it is not said that tsunami bigger than this may not occur.

○As for the inundation area and the flood depth, the inundation occurs by difference with calculation condition about changing of the ground change and structure caused by earthquake other than unevenness of the local ground and influence of building in inundation outside the area, and flood depth may grow bigger.

○The inundation area and flood depth of "tsunami inundation assumption" are intended to push forward tsunami disaster prevention measures mainly on evacuation, and please be careful in not deciding outbreak range of disaster and damage caused by tsunami.

○The inundation area and flood depth are in place becoming maximum after the second wave not the first wave of tsunami.

○For "tsunami inundation assumption", we do not illustrate water level change in the river and wetlands caused by tsunami, but, by going up of tsunami, water level may actually change.

* Explanation is necessary for the other parties of business as important matter in so if the residential land building transactions business method is revised with the enforcement of "law about tsunami disaster prevention community improvement" and is in tsunami disaster caution area about article targeted for business, but there is not point appointed in tsunami disaster (in particular) caution area in Kumamoto.
